Dodge to revive the Viper for the second time
The iconic Dodge Viper has been quite a controversy for car enthusiasts from the around the world. The car never got points on being comfortable for either the driver or the people it zoomed close by, but you cannot deny true power. The original continuation of the Viper was shut down in 2009. But it never died. Vipers remained a part of the automobile world by showing up in car shows, races, beauty roles, and being around in the social media sphere of automobile enthusiasts. Dodge gave the viper another shot in 2016 when it released the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR, whose production also shut down just last year. This time, Dodge is willing to give another go at the two-seater predator and we couldn’t be more excited.

The 2016 Dodge Viper ACR was the same annoying car in which the driver had to climb over a door sill to enter a very small cabin and whose engine was specifically designed to give headaches when it roared. However, Dodge had put special efforts towards changing one thing in the Dodge ACR: making it produce better lap times. The snake was a huge success for this purpose and did receive a lot of praises.
According to a recent report by “Car and Driver” magazine, a new Dodge Viper is about to make its way to the spotlight. The magazine didn’t say that “it either could, or it couldn’t”, it said that a Viper is going to happen, it’s sure.
According to the magazine, the new Viper will not be the same Viper that was powered by an 8.4-liter V10 engine that made sure that the attention was on it when it spoke. The new Viper will receive a bit lesser power (and noise), chances are that Chrysler’s revolutionary aluminum-block V8 engine by Hemi will take the place of the original iron V10.
Of course, the power will be brought down from about 640 horsepower produced by the V10 to a 550hp output by the V8. However, the new Viper will be made largely of carbon-fiber and aluminum. The weight loss in the body, combined with the weight lost by changing an iron V10 by an aluminum V8 should be enough to cancel out the drop down in power. Then again, we there are also the possibilities of a supercharged V8 beast that could take the power output of the new Viper to 700hp.
