Suzuki Suspends Bookings, Another Price Hike Coming?

The situation of the local auto market seems grim for the time being as Pak Suzuki has suspended the bookings of all of its cars. Earlier, the company was only booking Suzuki Swift and VXR variant of Wagon R; however, the latest reports suggest that all bookings have been stopped.

One of the Suzuki dealerships told us there is an issue with car quota by the company, while another dealership claimed that a price hike is on the cards. “The prices of Suzuki cars can go up today or in the next few days, hence, the stoppage of bookings,” one of the dealerships official told us.

We do hope that the news about the price hike is not true because the car prices have already gone way too up for an ordinary man. And with the high petrol rate and overall inflation, this will be another blow for the consumers.

Meanwhile, the company has confirmed the new Advance Tax, implemented by the government in the new Fiscal Budget 2022-23. According to the company, following are the new tax slabs for filers and non-filers on Suzuki cars.

Record-High Sales by Suzuki

And this comes a day after the company reported its highest-ever sales last month. As per details, Pak Suzuki sold 16,000 units in June 2022, breaking its own record of 15,500 units in December 2021. So, it is evident that people are buying Suzuki cars, and the primary reason could be the very high prices of sedans and crossover SUVs.

The company has dominated the small car segment for decades, and people are buying these vehicles because the bigger ones are coming out of range for everyone. But it is also true that the prices of Suzuki cars have also increased, especially in the last couple of years, making it difficult to buy them.

Let’s see what step the company takes regarding bookings and price revision in the next few days.
