2017 Toyota Corolla Facelift Officially Unveiled in Russia!

Back in March this year, Toyota released official photos of 2017 Corolla’s face-lift. After receiving a lot of media buzz, it finally gets an official debut.  The announcement took place in Russia on Thursday. Toyota is no stranger to the concept of mid-cycle upgrades since both 9th and 10th generation Corollas got face-lifts following three years of their original release. As per the officials at Toyota, the update would be released to other markets soon, and it will serve as a mid-cycle refresh for the eleventh generation Corolla, which was released back in 2013 (2014 in Pakistan).

The update gives Corolla a newly designed front end which now looks to embrace Toyota’s new bold and keen look design language. 2017 Corolla’s headlights also receive a redesign. The headlamp set-up now looks more sleek thanks to a newly designed strip style LED lamps coupled with new daylight running lights. Moreover, the front grille is now thinner, which seems to have drawn inspiration from its current U.S. borne brother. Corolla’s front bumper gets a refresh to compliment the new headlamps and grille. Side stance and rear end remain pretty much similar to the current iteration. As far as the exterior is concerned, the front end brings the greatest amount of design changes. Once you step inside, the first thing you notice is the new circular design of air conditioning vents. Moreover, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) controls too see a minor redesign along with a slight change of instrument panel’s placement on the dash. MID (Multi-Information Display) now comes with a 4.2inch colour display along with updated software. Toyota claims that interior’s build quality has been improved and that they have fine-tuned the ride quality, electric power steering and noise insulation of the car.

Technically, only ground clearance sees an increase of 15mm from previous 135mm to 150mm raising the overall height of 2017 Toyota Corolla. As of now, officials at Toyota are reporting that transmission and engine offerings would remain unchanged. Toyota Russia plans to begin sales of the refreshed 2017 Toyota Corolla this summer, with Toyota Global eager to roll it out to Asian and European Markets by Q1 of 2017. Usually, Corolla’s face-lifts reach Pakistan around six to nine months after the global debut so we can expect to see 2017 Corolla in our market somewhere at the start of next year.
