The highly anticipated event is nonetheless an exclusive opportunity for all the local and foreign exhibitors to display their products. It’s the largest gathering event of leading auto parts suppliers and service providers in Pakistan. A number of stakeholders of the local industry of Pakistan including machinery and raw material providers, allied industry and services providers are participating in the grand event. Moreover, several classic and exotic cars will also add excitement to the event. It will also feature several component manufacturers related to casting, plastic, rubber, forging, metal sheets, etc.
Pak Suzuki is likely to participate in the event with their all-new 660 cc Alto on display. The auto manufacturer is already set to start the commercial production of Alto from next week, to fill the void created by the discontinuation of its iconic 800 cc Mehran. According to the sources, Pak Suzuki has already shared the parts supply schedule with their vendors and the orders for parts have also started to deliver. The depreciation process of Pakistani Rupee against the US dollar is putting a lot of pressure on the company as far as the introductory price of Alto is concerned.

Moreover, the content of localized parts being used in the all-new model of the company is not yet clear. However, as per some vendors, the assembling of the car would initiate with at least 50% of the local parts. In Pakistan, small cars like Mehran have played a key role in developing a strong vendor base due to the high localization of parts (up to 70%). Therefore, to facilitate them, Pak Suzuki has reportedly accommodated nearly 80% of Mehran vendors in the parts manufacturing of its all-new Alto. Apart from everything, the price of Alto will be a significant factor in defining its future in Pakistan, where new players have started to creep in gradually.
