PakWheels Infographics: 2016 Honda HR-V vs Honda Vezel

Honda Atlas Pakistan launched 2016 Honda HRV at an exclusive event in Lahore, just a few months ago (January 2016). It is safe to say Honda Pakistan took the bold decision after looking at the success of imported Honda Vezel vehicles. Honda Vezel and HR-V are similar cars with a few minor cosmetic changes but different drivetrain. Honda Vezel comes with hybrid technology whereas 2016 Honda HR-V is a non-hybrid vehicle. Honda has kept the name for Japanese domestic market. Whereas HR-V is used internationally.

Honda HR-V or Vezel is a subcompact SUV (crossover) and made its international debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show after its launch in Japan in late 2013. But the car went on sale in North America in 2015. You will find the same vehicle with HR-V nameplate in other countries like Canada, Australia, and Singapore including Pakistan.

Since both are the same vehicles, body dimensions are the same. Road clearance although might depend on the region of launch. The biggest difference is the drivetrain. As mentioned above, Vezel is a hybrid vehicle and HR-V is non-hybrid.

Vezel comes with a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine and a 30 hp electric motor. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. On the other hand, 2016 Honda HR-V in Pakistan comes with a standard 1.5-liter internal combustion engine (the same engine you find in your Honda City) mated to a CVT gearbox. Also, Honda Vezel doesn’t come with a spare tyre whereas Honda HR-V comes with spare tyre. You get paddle shifters in both Vezel and HR-V.
