Remembering Fazal Wahab – A True Car Guy & Gem of a Person
If you are a true PakWheeler or follow the automotive news, analysis, and reviews closely, then you surely know the name Fazal Wahab, also known as Fazal Bhai. He was one of the oldest PakWheelers and among the top automotive experts in the community; Fazal Bhai used to know about every car launch in Pakistan or internationally. He was a genuine car guy and, above that, a true PakWheeler because he loved to write and discuss the cars in detail on PakWheels Community, where he was an admin, too.
His love for PakWheels was so evident that his online name was Fazal@PW.
Along with being a true car guy, Fazal Wahab was a gem of a person. He always shared his ideas respectfully, was available to answer your questions at any time, and gave you a detailed explanation about any aspect of cars. He was polite, genuine, and down-to-earth. Fazal Bhai was an individual whom you remember for a very long time, even after one interaction.
November 8, 2023 – A Huge Loss
He lived in the USA, and on November 8, 2023, we received the shocking news of his passing away. Indeed, his death was a great loss to PakWheels and the automotive community of Pakistan. Anyone who heard about his demise was sad and expressed their condolences to the family. Here is our farewell tribute to the man.
And today is his first death anniversary, and Fazal Bhai is still alive in our thoughts and prayers. He loved cars, and what is the best way to remember him through his writings on different vehicles, safety tips, and technical information? So, here are some of the articles he wrote for us, and we are sharing them with a thank you to Fazal Bhai.
- Hyundai Santa Fe Launch was the last article he wrote for PakWheels. As usual, he discussed the car in detail, including its platform and comparison with the Kia Sorento. This blog was also special because Fazal Wahab added his hand-written chart explaining the generations of Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe.
- He always believed in driving safely, especially in different seasons like rain and fog. As winter is coming again, here is one of his blogs about driving in fog and how to be careful and avoid accidents. In this article, he shared different precautions, including the use of proper head and tail lights and proper speed. Read about these in detail here.
- Fazal Bhai loved discussing the technical details of cars, as evident by his blog on the Laser-Brazed Roof in the Honda Civic 2022. There were a lot of questions about this technology around the Civic’s launch, and that is why he wrote about it in detail, explaining its pros and cons and its differences from welding. - There has always been a debate about the options and quality of CBU cars vs. the locally assembled ones. To address this, he wrote a very well-explained article about the differences in quality and production. In this blog, he writes about the issue while giving an example of Changan Alsvin, which was a new addition to the local market at that time.
- It is impossible to cover his hundreds of articles in one blog, so here is his first blog for PakWheels, which he wrote way back in 2013 on the “next generation of Subaru WRX.” The writing shows his love for cars and his expertise and knowledge of automotive technology.
