Suzuki Pakistan discontinuing Mehran VX

For the past many years, rumours were circulating that Pak Suzuki would be discontinuing its iconic all-time top-seller hatchback Mehran in Pakistan. However, each time the car survived. But, now the company has officially announced that it will be halting the production of one of the Mehran’s variants, the Mehran VX, from November end this year. Pak Suzuki has sent a directive in this regard to its vendors, which read as follow:

“Dear, valued vendor(s), Management of PSMCL has decided to discontinue its Model SB308 only version VX(Mehran) from end November 2018.”

It further reads,

“In view of above, it is important to note that all the respective local parts should be produced and supply according to schedules to be sent to you on monthly basis for remaining production plan of 6734 units to be produced from June 2018 to End November 2018.”

The circular, which the company has sent to its vendor(s) is as follow:

VX is the base model and has minimum features. Keep in mind that Suzuki Pakistan is only killing a variant, and not the car itself. VXR is to remain in production until further notice. Mehran VX is priced at PKR 739,000 whereas Mehran VXR is priced at PKR 795,000.
