Honda Atlas Pakistan Plans To Launch New Civic In 2017

PakWheels has worked hard over time to make sources at various automakers and their vendors to bring you the latest happenings from the auto industry and this time we bring you news that will put a gleam in every Honda fan’s eye .

Our carefully cultivated sources at Honda have revealed to PakWheels that Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited (HACPL) will launch the 10th generation Honda Civic in the Pakistani market as early as the September 2017.

It is worth noting that Honda Global has not officially announced the new Civic yet, however, a development mule was spied in the open a few months ago and more recently, patent images of the 10th generation Civic emerged.

From the the patent images, the new Civic looks more mature, as befitting an upmarket  sedan, although it doesn’t change the fact that this is still an econobox. Until the 8th generation, the Civic had a flamboyant design that would appeal most to the boy racer kind of buyers. With the 9th generation Civic, Honda changed its design philosophy for the Civic and took away the aggressive fascia that Civic and its owners used to flaunt, and replaced it with a rather more docile version, resulting in a completely changed persona. The 9th gen Civic has styling that appeals mostly to the people who do not want to flaunt their wealth. Honda Global will continue the same design philosophy, a philosophy that will never set the pulse racing, but will deliver a more sedate and mature look. Akin to the girl next door rather than a size-zero seductress.

There is no news on the engine specs and we don’t know it yet whether Honda Atlas will introduce the new 1.5-liter turbocharged engine or continue with the ongoing R18 engine. It’s too early to speculate anything and our sources only revealed the exact time when the new Civic will be launched in Pakistan, but we hope that when it does, it comes with the 1.5-liter turbo engine because VTEC will kick better with turbo, YO!
