Honda Civic 2016 Comes To Asia – Booking Starts In Philippines, Specs Confirmed
We here in Pakistan are anxiously waiting for the new 2016 Honda Civic. It was launched in North America market last year and has already been put on sale in the United States and Canada. One of our regular bloggers, Fazal Wahab, went to test drive one as well. Now according to the latest reports, the new Honda Civic 2016 has found its way to Asia. And the Philippines is the first Asian country where the car has been put up for the launch. Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. is gearing up for the 10th generation Civic and all authorized Honda dealerships throughout the Philippines have started to take reservations.

The ASEAN-spec Civic will be launched with a turbocharged 1.5-liter and a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated engine. It is most probably the same 1.8L engine that we get in our 9th generation Civic here in Pakistan. So the initial suspicion that the new Civic in Pakistan will also be launched with the same 1.8L motor now has more substance to it since our cars share a lot with ASEAN-spec cars. The new Civic in American market comes with a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine producing 174 bhp and a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine producing a little over 150 bhp.

Honda Philippines will be offering the turbocharged Civic with their Road Sailing body kit (hence the RS Civic) in order to make the car look more aggressive and streamlined.
The 2016 Honda Civic will be available in following colors:
- Cosmic Blue Metallic
- Midnight Burgundy Pearl
- Lunar Silver Metallic
- White Orchid Pearl
- Modern Steel Metallic
- Rallye Red
It is going to be the first Civic in Asia, and now all eyes are on Honda Atlas. Honda fans and auto enthusiasts, in general, are excited to see what Honda Pakistan has to offer. As much as we are waiting for the new Civic, many are waiting to know what sort of engine options Honda Atlas will offer. We will have to see if Pakistani auto consumers will get either NA or turbo engines, or both? And whether the NA is going to be the same current 1.8L unit or an entirely new engine.
