Trend for opting for driver license in Pakistan unearthed!

Following traffic rules is not a forte of Pakistani Nation, and it’s not a hidden thing or something which we are not aware off, one can see how much traffic violations are being done daily on the roads despite authorities informing and educating people to follow the traffic rules.

One such violation is not opting for the driving license or driving a vehicle even when you are not of the legal age to drive one. PakWheels.com conducted an Automobile Industry Survey 2018 in this regard to know how much people are interested in opting for driving license. Interestingly, 80% of the participants asserted that they have a valid driving license while 14% said that they don’t own a driving license whereas 4% said their license had been expired and 2% asserted they lost it– in simple terms 20% don’t own driving license and out of this 20%, 67% of the citizens aged less than 18 years drive a vehicle without a driving license which is an alarming situation for law enforcement agencies.

Now if we compare the results with the previously conducted auto survey than the situation looks a little promising. In the previous survey, 74 percent of respondents said that they own a driving license and 19 percent said they don’t possess a driving license, while 5 percent said their license had been expired and 2 percent said they lost it. A whopping 60 percent of the respondents aged less than 21 years do not hold a driver’s license.

It is important to mention here that traffic authorities in the past few months have been religiously educating people to follow traffic rules for their own safety across the country. They are also vigilantly issuing tickets to the violators. Moreover, the traffic authorities are strictly asking people to get a valid driving license in order to keep themselves out of trouble.
