Dear PW Gurus
I am planning a trip in coming November (1-Nov to 8-Nov). I can only take leaves in these dates. This would be my first ever trip to northern areas of Pakistan. After some pak-wheeling, I have made following trip plan for Gilgit-Hunza, for which suggestions / modifications are requested:
Day 1 (1-Nov-14; Saturday): Leave Lahore
Day 2 (2-Nov-14; Sunday): Reach Gilgit (through NATCO from Pindi). Night stay at Gilgit
Day 3 (3-Nov-14; Monday): Little bit roaming in Gilgit and then leave for Hunza afternoon. Night stay at Hunza.
Day 4 (4-Nov-14; Tuesday): Explore Hunza (Karimaabad, Ali Abad, Ganesh, Hussain Abad, Nasir Abad, Altit & Baltit forts, etc)
Day 5 (5-Nov-14; Wednesday): Visit Atta-bad Lake and back to Hunza / Naltar.
Day 6 (6-Nov-14; Thursday): Visit Naltar or Nagar/Hopper. Night stay at Naltar or Hunza.
Day 7 (7-Nov-14; Friday): Stay at Naltar or Hunza till noon. Start return journey in evening.
Day 8 (8-Nov-14; Saturday): Return journey.
My questions are as under:
1. What about weather? From accuweather, it would be 0 to -5 degree in November in Hunza. What about scenery. Disappoint to nahe hun ga, pehli baar ja raha hun
2. As I can only take leaves on these dates and 9-10 Moharram would fall during my vacation (on 3rd & 4th November), therefore, some security concerns arise in mind. I am hopeful that it would be safe in Hunza. What?s expert opinion?
3. Is it possible to visit all towns / places mentioned in Day 4. If not, then what are must visit.
4. Should I go for Naltar or for Nagar / Hopper for remaining days?
5. Would visiting Phandar instead of Naltar or Hopper be wise decision? If yes, please tell about travel time from Hunza to Phandar and accommodation facility availability.
6. Hopeful to get heaters in room for nights and warm water in morning in Hunza or where ever I would stay (Naltar or Phandar). What gurus say?
7. Any other suggestion for change in plan
Finally, I am alone but determined for this trip and my friends are not much interested in this venture due to certain reasons (winter season, 9-10 Moharram, etc). Therefore, anyone who would like to join me in same dates is also welcome.
Stay blessed and thanks in advance
