Assalam Alaikum all of you...
I know I'm doing a useless conversation b'coz this topic was initiated yearrrrs ago and now nobody (from seniors) is interested in continuing this discussion anymore, as its understood that no-one has commented on this "None-Issue" since 2014 (except one in 2016, but that was also not related to the issue)...
The reason for my invasion in the topic was the exclamation to see a special/unusual device (said to be "euro/euro-II device" herein this discussion) in a friend's CG-125 recently. As I saw the so called "device" for the first time, I was curious to know that why they (manufacturer) fitted this with such a small engine?
According to my knowledge/experience {as a professional working abroad with engines roughly more than 5,000 (five thousand) BHPs and onwards} it's a "turbocharger"
But it's really really glad to see a CG125 with turbo charger, i.e. a turbocharged Honda CG125.
It has the same location of fitting in the 125CC engine as of any bigger engine fitted with turbocharger, taking in the exhaust gasses from engine's exhuast that are used for rotating the "miniature turbine", and a centrifugal compressor at the opposite end is responsible for suction of fresh air (through a given filter) and finally compression of that air for forcing into the combustion chamber of the engine.
This is an old technique used by automotive engineers, and successful for getting extra efficiency of engine by naturally aspirating the engine. Hence, it improves efficiency by adding extra power and ultimately helpful for fuel economy and less hydrocarbon emissions which is the main requirement for euro-II Compliance.
But this theory is fabricated by me after a visual inspection of approximately 2-minutes, So, I opened this post/thread to know that how helpful is this turbocharger in 125 CC engine?
But, what I've got by fellow internet users is:-
Some one said: "it maintains the temperature of mobil oil and MAKES it cool, no other purpose"
Other said: "it keeps the engine head (i.e. cylinder head) cool, no other purpose"
Some assumed: "it's only for emission control, and have nothing to do with power increase etc"
And some believed: "it's a device only for getting attention of buyers, because most of people are addicted of getting something 'NEW', even if the new thing is not having any advantage"
And blah blahh blahhhh
