I do indeed have something planned. But I'd like it to be based on digital music (all of my old stuff is now in MP3/FLAC/AAC format), rather than tapes or CD/DVD. Ideally speaking, perhaps a simple solution would be to have an iPod Touch that hooks directly to a well-concealed amplifier (maybe via bluetooth, to avoid excessive wires), which feeds four heavy speakers at the rear, and a couple of good tweeters / supertweeters up front. Maybe a tastefully-designed subwoofer system in the trunk.
rims n tires are definately larger then what we usually see around us even on larger cars but damn man, that thing is almost half the length of the motorway, makes the wheels look tiny!! probably u can use larger rims but same size treaded tires if that ll work... but hey, forget about it for now... lets talk about ur paint job.
Agreed. Rims and tyres are at a very low priority for me right now. I'm far more interested in getting the interior/exterior finished properly, and driving the thing around.
i wonder why u keep on saying u arent good at it... i personally think u are doing great n the guts it takes to lay the first few sprays of paint onto the gleaming, super sexy long hood must be appreciated! i'd say u are just going slow, but not bad at all. and when ones not experienced, slow is the right way to go... so hellyeah... you're gonna rock! very soon, im sure, the paint job will end n after DC guys are done with playing around on the hood n fender, the paint job wud be no less then that of a brand new merc!
Those are very kind words, indeed. When I started off with this flames project, the ONLY thing I knew was that I WANTED my car to look like this. HOW I was to go about it, was somewhat unclear. I dare say it STILL is! Unfortunately, in Pakistan, we're hamstrung by a lot of constraints, in terms of hardware, equipment, supplies...and skilled craftsmen, for whom, a project like this is completely alien. Also, we're very frightened to dare step out of the flogged-dead-horse 'circle' of normalcy..."kahin bura na lagey"..."agar bechnee pari, tau log khareedenge?"..."log yeh na sochein ke accident hui gaari hai, aur yeh paint chhupaane kee koshis hai". You get what I mean? And overcoming those very stereotypes is THE most difficult part of such a project. Personally, this experience has been very liberating for me...AFTER those initial, uncertain, tentative sprays of paint to the hood!
