total work took around 4hr, got really tired in the end
isnt it 1:5 for heavy dirt for wheels?
after reading the post i thought to finally give it a try, havent used APC which bought few months ago
i had a syringe but the bottle of apc was half filled so used a funnel to first add it to syringe n then into spray bottle, i had a 500ml bottle but i decided to use 250ml, took a glass n emptied 500ml bottle in that, so one glass = 250ml but after emptying syringe mark of apc wasnt going, n i used same syringe, after cleaning though, for measuring one ounce of shampoo (30ml)
i started spraying apc on rims, agitated with tooth brush, n since u said it settles down if dried so i kept rinsing every now n then, used one whole bucket of water for one wheel, i used to spray on some area, n start agitating but it all used to slide down, so i was worried what if it dries, so quickly i used to rinse then spray on other part of rim n so on
rim got cleaned as much as it used to when i use cloth with a shampoo or a wet cloth, as for tyre i used to rub cloth covered with shampoo but i read that u need to use a brush otherwise that yellowness on the tyres wont get off, so i used the brush that is used for washing clothes, well dont know if shampoo would have gotten the same results or not, but tyres really got clean this way n didnt turned yellow brownish after drying
very little got left so thought to try it on engine bay but before that thought to check if it can clean the dirt on doors, n it wonders for that :o so i started cleaning the whole door, then second door, first i was just spraying on door n rubbing with cloth but then just sprayed on cloth n then rubbed that on door, it finished to added little water, shook n started using again did all 4 doors n then the dashboard though by that time i was just left with plain water, anyways wheels + interior took a pretty long time, for every wheel i had to fill the bucket first since it wasnt rinsing in one go so didnt bothered to use the hose
how do i clean the dust inside ac vents btw? i tried cleaning it with the edge of the cloth but couldnt get it all, even sprayed water hoping that it would take it out but it didnt
then i added 30ml of shampoo n added water with pressure, filled up 1 gallon upto the mark i made on bucket, i could see water level from outside, foam went much up though, but during washing it felt if shampoo was getting finished up from mitt quickly, dont know why
there was a mark of a hand on bonnet, it didnt went away after drying :o n not even after buffing the wax :o
btw there was some brake dust on the driver side rim, n there r some marks on rear rim n some dried black spots on other side front time, posting pics of all rims, how do i clean all that? i was hoping apc would clean it all as shampoo used to fail in that regard
driver side rim, black brake dust n some other marks which didnt go away, u can notice them on edges
rear one having strange marks
rear left side rim which gets cleaned all fine with even just a wet cloth
front left side rim which has this drop let marks
this time drying was a blessing, while rinsing i used full pressure, n i noticed water wasnt staying on the roof
khair after rinsing whole car, i used sheeting method for all horizontal panels n the doors, all water sheeted off the roof, literally nothing got left behind
bonnet also had really less water left, n i opened the bonnet in almost full straight way so most of the water went down
doors also didnt had much water left, dont know if sheeting really came handy or wax was all gone, last wax coat was on last thursday
but water magnet was still almost 30% dry @omerakif
i forgot to clean lower panels before washing whole car so wash mitt was getting pretty dirty n i use to twirl the wash mitt in water bucket to shake off the dust, though it stays blackish but i think dirty does gets off right? but just to be careful i started rubbing it every time to clean it, at the end i applied pressure water on it to take out dirt as well as bring back its white colour which i forgot about while washing the car
then applied a coat of #26 cleaned door jambs, n then started cleaning some rims again with shampoo to see if the dirt marks etc go away, but i think they didnt, it was dark so i couldnt see either, then buffed off the wax, n then remembered i forgot the trunk, applied wax on it, by that time i was pretty tired, i think i started out around 3:30, had lunch around 5pm, n it was 7pm when i was buffing n was very tired, wasnt well either but still did all this
then dried the rims n tires with a cloth that i used to use for cleaning off interior dust, now thats gone for wheels too
btw which things can i clean with apc for interior? i think 10:1 for stubborn dirt, n for just simple cleaning 20:1,
i guess i can pretty much clean everything except for leather seats, right?
now comes the endurance gel i felt that it wasnt getting applied so i had to rub the foam pretty hard on tires, n sometimes i felt it still wasnt working, maybe it was the middle side wall that felt like that or because it was dark i couldnt judge it properly though i still had a light in my other hand, anyways i noticed on other tyres as well, it wasnt getting applied with gently touch so had to use lots of force n by time i got on last wheel, foam was looking pretty worn out
endurance gel did worked wonders on the tyre
all that rubbing paid off
really happy to see the result
took the pic after i took it out, after the cleaning session
tried to capture some flakes popping out
pehle detailing ka maza khtm ho gya tha, but now its paying off showing the shine in paint
cant wait to work with a DA
