I just completed the audio setup in my car. Thought I would share.
Headunit: 80prs
Fronts: Hertz HSK-165, currently running passive, no rearfill, high pass @ 125Hz 6dB/Octave
Amp: Ppi P900.4, tuned at 120 watts RMS per channel using oscilloscope using 0dB test tone for fronts, 350 watts RMS for sub. Filters disabled at amplifier.
Subwoofer: Rainbow soundline SL-S12, 1.8cuft box tuned at 28 Hz, Low pass at 200Hz @ 12db/Octave
Wiring: True 4 gauge oxygen free cables, shielded RCAs, 14 gauge speaker wires.
Sound deadening: I'm currently in Korea and used locally made 3mm thick sound deadener, awesome results. Hatch, and all doors are fully deadened.
BIG 3 upgrade: With 4 gauge OFC copper wires
If anyone needs help with tuning EQs with 80prs or matching gains to headunit without scope or exactly setting filters using amplifiers dials, let me know. I'll be happy to help.
Lets start with pics:
Headunit
Custom install in doors. Door panel needed to be cut.
The sub
Amp and crossovers under the driver's seat. Amp is mounted upsides down. It has about 2 inches of space underneath the amp heat-sink for cooling.
Build log coming in further posts... P.S: I did the install myself. 'Mazdoori' is so freakin expensive here..
