Just got a new Honda City. Any idea on the gear shifts till 1000 kms and after that to prolonged life?
I have done 300 kms, I usually change the gear at 1.5 RMP or 2.0 RPM max with steady acceleration and braking. The car is giving an average of 15.3 as per the meter.
Thanks in advance !
Enjoy your ride as you wish,There is no problem,Just be nice to your car,not only now but all the time,Respect Pediatricians, remember you are in Air conditioned car and they are in soaring heat, let them past first,God bless you, drive save
lol congrats on new car! and drive it like every other honda. no specific tips. go slow on speed breakers
Don't change gears at 1.5 or 2 rpm, change it at 3 rpm because I have heard that changing gears at 2 rpm and then accelerating the car can be harmful for your engine. Other than this be careful while crossing the speed breakers as sometime your car can get hit from beneath with speed breaker. Don't accelerate the car really hard for at least 1000 km.
I must say that Rabeel has explained it in a very brief and interesting way.Do as he said and seriously im following it.

Pediatricians!! IS the OP a doctor or did he mention driving his car inside a hospital? Please check before you type, it might get you into trouble
Drive responsibly, within speed limits. Change all fluids & filters on time. Take care of your car and it will take care of you, abuse it and it will bite back!
Ha ha now that is hilarious, How the hell i made that may be auto complete anyways thanks for pointing out the mistake
Just avoid bikers, two bikeridiots scracthed both sides of my bumper at the same time and kept going. -_- its only 3 weeks old. Other than that, there is nothing too special, compared to corolla you need to put it in lower gears when slowing down, while corolla can be pushed in 3rd gear :') not recommended though.
Don't floor it to redline.. dont idle unnecessarily and dont baby the engine. Shift gears at about 2-3k and dont go over 4k rpm till 1k kms...
