Salam all posting a Kwik, cheap, innovative DIY to add detail to the interior of ur car. Last weekend did this little innovative DIY. The new Honda red badge would cost anywhere between RS 1500 ~RS 2000. i got around 90% of the desired result literally FREE! Theres no match to the finish n quality of of the original badge but when it costs nearly nothing then what else do u need. Plus the flexibility of choosing the quality n colour thus giving 1 unlimited creativity n inviduality! Enuff of the lecture: heres wot i achieved:
things u need:
1st of all put the butter/ trace paper over the badge n hold it in place with scotch tape. Not too loose neither too tight.
And then post the awesome result on PW for free!
Good job Zunny bhai. Till now, I didn't know you did it yourself. I thought you got the steering as it is...
Can you post some closeup pictures? I'll definitely try it as well...
bro hw u did tht...?
looking good
insert all the other parts n this is what u will get!
i still did not get it :S
once ur satisfied with the standards of the inserts, then take out the inserts and put them on the material u want to make the inserts. 2. Trace the inserts on the new material3. now cut this final insert neatly while ensuring a good standard cut and neatness as this is your final insert4. use samad/UHU glue and stick the inserts n enjoy!
now put/give back all the things u took from ur kids/wife/neighbours and clean up the mess so ur wife doesnt lose it n be proud of ur achievements!
^ +1 :d
i used a fine red genuie leather piece which was lying with the cobbler as my steering is brand new and its leather wrapped so thought it would blend with the leather. U can use any material n colour of your choice! Make it unique n according to ur taste. See how good the white temp cardboard inserts look in the above b the fol pics. I suggest white civic owners to get use white n it will look great! Others may use same colour materials of our car to make it unique! There r no limits too your ingenuinity and may use any thing. fouad Bhai (viper) suggested using carbon fibre sheet n then making the inserts which is a damn great idea. The inserts can be made for the rear n front badges aswell. 1 can use the same technique for any other car i.e corolla etc
Bohat aala zunny bhai... (Y)
Final result ka close up post karain... It is looking awesome!
see how TAYT the white badge would look like!
