Ignitor in distributor of toyota 4afe/ 2e engines

for those who dont know, the ignitor is the small 'dibbi' in the distributor, the only other pack kinda thing other than the ignition coil.

kabaria in rwp tell me ignitor of 4afe and 2e are not interchangable, however ignition coils of both are the same.

is it true?

also, should i pay rs.1200 for a kabli ignitor?
i also have a fully funcitonal ignition coil that can fit to the 2e/4afe and any other engine that uses the same coil. thts a spare so if any1 wants they can buy it off me....coz i wana buy an ignitor!!!!

i believe everyone knows that - and yes they are not interchangeable - as the EFI ignitor relies on a different wave shape from the ECU and also sends a signal back to the ECU of an ignition event that happened last

heres my distro pic with the ignitor. i measured the resistance and it said around 1k ohms. i think its too high, its supposed to be in the 140-200 ohm range right? can this be the culprit of the misfires?

i had similar problem.. missing in car.. one guy said to change the coil.. the other just replace the resistance of the coil and problem solved

how exactly did you replace the resistance of the coil? koi naya component add kia?

cant help you on that

my father took the car.. and thats what he told me that only the resistance was replaced coil wasnt.
