Updates
Amongst the "boring" stuff we're doing nowadays, is reinforcing the body by means of hand-crafted channels welded to the body-panels. This is tedious, but is all important to retain the structural rigidity and integrity of the body-beautiful of the Phantom.
We're also positioning (and fabricating) the all important fuel cap to the petrol tank. For this, we're sticking to the "original" fuel-cap flap of the FJ40; a design touch that goes with the "original" feel and attempted design philosophy of the Phantom.
Yet another important but somewhat mundane task, is the adjustment of the rear seat (the front will be Recaros / Sparcos, hopefully). We've got the rear cabin seat from a GMC suburban for this purpose, which offers great thigh and lumbar support as well as a comfy seating position. Also, it offers three seat belts, which is again, very important in a vehicle which will (Insha Allah) attempt to challenge very difficult terrain. Most importantly, it fits beautifully between the rear wheel arches.
I'm very pleased with all this boring stuff!
Let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
