Dear Suhaib,
You have bowled me a clever disguised googly, and I shall attempt to play it!
In my experience, the higher torque and horsepower of the Toyota engines (2C 2C-T, 3C-T, 3Y, 3Y and 3S-GE) over rides the need for a reduction drive in 2H and 4H, as compared to the original Suzuki drivetrains - the "strangely coupled speed gear and transfer case".
I have nothing but bad memories of the Suzuki's original transfer case - getting stuck in 4L, shifter jumping out, shifter breaking in two! On the other hand, all the Suzuki's that were equipped with Toyota engines, especially the petrol ones, all performed like a dream. The only Suzuki that I did like was my friend's Potohar converted to a coil sprung SJ410 with Jimny axles, and a Samurai 1300cc EFI engine and 5 speed gearbox. This is the only one which crept close to the Toyota engine-powered SJ410s.
