Dear friends, on the advice of a PW friend, I contacted this gentleman from G-10, Mr. Huzaifa Ahmed, 03445512155.

Yesterday (7-8-16), he paid me a visit with a helper on his Diesel car and started the Prado within 10 minutes. What was the fault? the fault was nothing serious but a few loose grips and a few loose fuses. He charged Rs.2000 that I paid without any hesitation. I am happy and thankful to him that he came on my telephonic request and made the things get going. Not only the engine started but also two indications in the dashboard instrument panel, used to remain "on", disappeared.
I also requested him to advise me further on preventive maintenance. He advised change of engine oil+filter, tappet adjustment, nozzles, lifty pump (now corolla pump fitted that he advised to replace with genuine Prado pump, and possible (not necessary) replacement of wiring.
I also requested him to give some cost estimates. Oil and filter prices seemed normal, while, tappet-3000, nozzles-2500, lifty pump-5000, kabli-wiring-20000 seem on higher side, may be because other shops or other mechanics will be involved. At the moment, I am just collecting info.
- While driving from Sargodha to Islamabad, around 235 km, my Prado gave an average of 7km/l with AC. Kindly rate this avg?
- I shall request to PW friends to comment on above rates given by Mr. Huzaifa.
- A friend advised me to explore workshops in Pir Wadhai area as well. Any comment on that?
- Corolla lifty pump is just doing fine in my Prado. It is said to have the advantage of low in cost, not draining itself, and readily
available at most places if needed replacement. Experienced Prado owners, please comment on this as well.
