We cannot compare Civic sales stats with Corolla. Both cars cater to different market segments with little bit of overlapping. If we have to compare the sales stats, we must add city in there too to compete with corolla 1.3 variants.
While civic and city only attracts sophisticated urban populations who like their cars to be smarter, economical and have superior quality; Corolla has fans from all walks of life. Corolla has earned the reputation of a tough car over the decades which might not be true for new generation models, but in Pakistan it takes people some time to stop following the herd.
Corolla is number one choice when it comes to rental cars. Also almost all the Govt and Pvt offices use corolla, even the motorway police this time went ahead and got Corollas.
I think both Honda (city/civic) and Toyota Corolla (all variants 1.3 - 1.8) are popular among the private individual buyers including families, and might have similar sales figures. But its the Govt/Pvt sector offices and rental cars businesses etc where Corolla dominates aggressively and helps Toyota selling twice as many Corollas than Civic and City combined.
