Motor sports is a very limited in our region but with the help of platforms such as Pakwheels, Cholistan rally and others this is gradually become famous and making a name for itself. There are numerous talented chaps out their who need to be explored and brought forward to help in spread motor sports in Pakistan and give it global recognition as well. As a motor sport enthusiast i have always had a soft spot for those involved in this sport full of the adrenaline rush but mainly what brings out the adrenaline in me is motocross and stunt riding.
Riders out their performing death defying stunts that make the jaw drop in seconds. Gravity defying jumps, mind boggling balancing, rubber burning and loads more is what drives me crazy and boosts my levels of testosterone. And then there is motocross. i mean riding in a race is tough enough, what happens when u add in wet dirt, flying sand, gravity defying jumps and loads more into the action? Well i would answer this myself, it brings a whole lot of fun and excitement to the term racing. All over the world both these events are riders participating in them are given extreme respect and flourished. Riders such as Bill Nilsson and others have brought great meaning to motocross transferring their childhood passions to careers.
Stunt riding on the other hand has been existing since hollywood started making movies. Fast riding bikes, high speed wheelies, high jumps and other such stunts have often been the WOW moments of hollywood movies but these acts of eye popping actions have started to make their way into sports itself. Riders such as Evel Knievel, Eddie Kidd, Chris Pfieffer have not only made a name for themselves performing such stunts but have revived the art of stunt riding and helped others persue this as a professional sport.
Pakistan has seen many such unofficial sportmen (i would call them) performing death defying stunts.Sultan Golden a pioneer of stunts in Pakistan, not only doing radical stunts but infact doing high jumps on cars in reverse . Many such riders followed his path such as Kamran Saeed who died in Lahore while performing a jump stunt. After his death stunt riding had come to a hault but is flurishing again since Chris Pfieffer performed in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
A young passionate racer, motocross rider and stuntman is now on the verge and mission to bring life once again to this sport in Pakistan and to globally represent Pakistan at international championships. His name is Umair Ali aka ALI ROCKET.
