Chinese?local bikes Vs Japanese bikes..(My views)
The main thing that gives an edge to Japanese bikes over the Chinese and the local ones is the quality. No doubt, the quality of Japanese bikes like Honda and Yamaha has had a decline than what it was some years back but still they are a lot better than the Chinese ones. Consider substandard spare parts of Chinese bikes, low quality paint job and chrome, low performing engine, lesser fuel average, blah blah. Long term effect of which is that Chinese bikes are a complete failure in the long run.
Now consider the price and resale, whereas Chinese bikes are cheaper they have comparatively bad resale value.
Talking about style...no doubt, some of the Chinese brands are producing stylish bikes whereas the giants like Honda and Yamaha are still following the old foot prints yet again a stylish bike is no use if it has got no good engine. Its like a painted mask covering a weird face. So the quality comes first and add style to it and it is a superb machine.
Even at their current prices if Yamaha and Honda can introduce style to the existing models or bring something new no matter on a smaller scale, they can do a good business because of a well established market all over the country. I hope thats all.
