A perfect place for camping in the woods.
Kumrat jeep track was in bad shape and we had to stop at places to see how to negotiate it.
Sir, Noted all with bundle of thanks & regards.
We stopped at many spots, enjoying the views and met many local people who welcomed us very warmly.
In the initial part of track after thall, I could see some cultivated patches of land. Beyond that all was simple wild forest.
Wonderful colors of the valley, as I saw it.
A closer look at the forest.
There are two Hotels in upper Kumrat in the forest. Both have many tents for night stay. First was Granite View Hotel and Restaurant.
I was told that these tent hotels are quite busy in tourist season, especially at weekends. Their location is great and you can enjoy camping at a nominal cost.
More views of Granite hotel and surroundings.
Passing through the forest.
We moved further in to the valley and saw another similar tent hotel, named Abshar Hotel.
He is owner of the hotel.
Both these sites are perfect for camping and both these hotels give an excellent opportunity by providing tents, food and basic facilities.
After having tea at the hotel, Raja sahib decided, It's time for trout fishing.
Few more clicks before the adventure begins.
Waters of Panjkora river in Kumrat are full of trout. Soon we were all busy from head to toe in trout fishing after the Raja Sahib. It was so thrilling that I had no time to take my fishing rods out.
Waters of the river were ice cold, the bank was stone laden and the stones were wet and slippery, but Raja had touched the net after many years and he was determined to prove that the old skill has not been forgotten. So, soon we were counting fish. But before we complete the count, few more shots of the forest as it is getting dark.
This adventurous fish netting continued till 9:00 pm. In dark, it was not easy for me to walk along the river on the slippery stones. So I came back to the jeep and we made a fire along the road, enjoying the warmth in this cold night.
The fishing party came back at 9:00 pm. They had caught 20 trouts, large and small. It was a good catch and all were happy and cheerful.
Great writing, excellent photography... I enjoyed the thread so much that I read it in one sitting....
eagerly waiting for more detail and pics
