Some software related info. This is not distributor specific information. Unichip offers demo software to get a know how plus they also encourage end users to do self tuning (provided they have a licensed software and understand what they are doing)
On the left, one has the option of 5 different maps based on requirement. They can be set for Low Octane/High Octane fuels, Lean mixtures for those mileage conscious fellows. And Even an Immobilizer map can be downloaded. All these maps can be selected from external map switch. No need to go online everytime.
As with other stand alone or piggy back ECUs, on the bottom, each parameter (Timing/Fuel/TPS) table can be selected and each load point can be changed. But that is on-the-go. Just download the changes and notice the effect in changed response (or change in numbers seen on a dyno)
As the vehicle moves, the load point (a green square) moves on the table indicating where the control is being done currently. So that a tuner knows exactly where to apply changes and observe results.
Sensor voltages can be seen on left corner. New/manipulated signal values on the bottom.
The module offers auto learning of sensor input ranges. But these can be set manually as well.
Max advance (to prevent engine breakdown), load look up scenarios (Closed Throttle, Part Throttle, Full Throttle) can be set as per requirement.
Also, there are tabs to control boost, on/off a shift indication light, control VTEC etc.
To cut it short, its pretty handy when one has a wide-band, a det-can and a laptop.
