I don't think people here realize this, but Mehran's strongest point is its dirt cheap spare parts that can be found everywhere...as well as the ability of every mechanic to work on it. That's why the poor man goes for it.
Whatever they do with it, they will have to keep it dirt cheap (comparatively) to maintain and repair. If that is gone due to some shape/electronic upgrades, then that will be the end of Mehran.
Mehran's selling point is ease of maintenance NOT efficiency, shape or features. Suzuki knows that and they probably will keep it that way for some time.
