@fazalwahab11375 In US, they have Peak and non peak hours. I don't know about NY but in southern California, there are very few toll lanes and that too run along with the freeway while Toll also used to vary in different times of the day as well as traffic flow.
Now lets come to Pakistan. On M2 e-tag system was started way back in probably 2006 or 2007 between Lhr and Isl. By now, they should have had e-tag system available at all the exit/entry points at all Motorways but our toll collection people simply don't want it (my feeling) just coz the automated system won't allow them to fill their pockets. I once spoke to e-tag manager and asked him why they don't intro e-tag system at more interchanges, he was like sir fir hum khayein ge kahan se. A toll collection officer at the booth makes around 18 or 20k from salary, but his daily income from toll is atleast 3 to 5k anyway. This increases with increase in authority level and perhaps the biggest reason the e-tag system never extended from the basic level after 2007. Only Kala Shah kaku was added on M2. On the other hand, the M2 has deteriorated a lot during last 3 to 4 years in the absence of a swift and efficient maintenance program.
