I also researched... please go through the flashpoints as mentioned in sheet given above. And comment.. BTW Thanks for research and taking risk. I am also going to switch to 5w40 shell once i get my knowledge confirmed by Xulfiqar bhai. My car is 99 Khyber with 88k km on odo. Dont know how many times it has previously hit 99k km.
use the oem recommended oil only ... see the car manual .. buying a genuine oil should be a major concern .. a wrong grading oil can ruin ur car's engine ... just google this sentence and you'll know
thanks you , i just checked the Hyundai site, they recomend API SM - SAE 5 W 30,never used that before!
Engine Oil Petrol
the only exception would be extreme temperature zones .. say above 40deg cent and below 10 deg cent
i think now winter is approaching and here in Islamabad temperature reaches around 1 to 5 degree centigrade.. may be that would be fine API SM - SAE 5W 30, please suggest? Also can anyone advise which products are available in this grading?
the letter "w" in the oem recommended oil is for winter so you should not be worried there .. try caltex havoline .. buy it from metro

ok Thanks a bunch!
not satisfied with fully synthetic oil,,,not saying they are bad or what so ever, but i always found them to be lowered on measuring gauge after 2k kms. car in which i expirinced were

15w40 and 5w40 are same when they are engine operating temprature. U must change seals and use 5w40 fully synthetic. It will improve ur engine conditions. And starting during winters will be easier.
Use 5w30 shell HX7 in winter and shell ultra 5w40 in summers. .
@xulfiqar bhai plz reply to me query

you also need the thermostat valve.
shell ultra 5w40 will be overkill for your requirements as your suzuki G10 engine does not beat up its oil like high strung european engines do. Keep on using regular mineral API SH, SJ10W30 or 10W40 oil in it with good oil filter, make sure the engine operates at correct temperature and change oil every 5000 kms - it will run a long life
10w40 Suzuki genuine oil is the only one av in sg grade, I never saw a diesel oil in my area, lower than 15w40
sg is also good for the old suzuki engines with flat tappet rockers.
By overkill u mean destructive?
no - not destructive but far exceeding your requirements - in urdu - zaroorat be bohot barh kar - OR chirya ka shikaar toap se
