In all honesty you dont want to be rolling down the highway in an Alto, its far too uncomfortable, noisy, wheezy and wants too much petrol because you have to flog the engine all the time.

Get a larger sedan - if your budget does not fit, get a used one.

Mileage of Alto is not that good on petrol, perhaps that is the reason you wont see many petrol driven Altos out there.
However the mileage is pretty decent on CNG.
One of the most difficult things in the world is to know how to do something, and to watch without comment, somebody else do it incorrectly.

@osama96 for an alto vxr to give 14-17km/l is indeed remarkable.

V true. I own both.civic 1.8 gives better petrol avg than my alto vxr.but CNG consumption of my alto is too good to be true. It's nearly impossible to believe but I got 295 KMs in a full cylinder past week.YES 295 KMS! rout Kharian to Islamabad airport and back.i was easy on the pedal. Avg speed between 80-85Kmph .No A.C. and 31 PSI tyre pressure in all tyres. Broke my previous record of 273 KMs I got from a full cylinder. Pressure I was told was 230 by the CNG pump. Car is 5 yrs old and around 83k on the clock. Car's maintenance is done as per its service manual and good quality oil n filters used!!

My Alto-VXR gives me 8-10KM in city and on long it gives 10-12KM with petrol. With CNG in city it gives me 130-140KM with AC and on long it gives 170KM on long. It's economy with petrol isn't good, whereas my honda city with 1.3L engine is far better than Alto.

Too much noise while driving above 100KM/hr.

I have an alto 2006. never calculated its petrol average but have a rough idea that it is on the high side. On cng it gives 120km/cylinder with full AC.
On highways it gives 150 with AC and 180 without AC.

@zunny I can not believe 295 or even 273. Brother itna difference thodi hota hai. Kia app bhi electronic media ke tarhan barha charha ke quote ker rahey hain.

This mileage of alto on petrol is what concerns me as I am planning to go to lahore by the end of this next month. If CNG will not be available it would cost me an extra RS13000 on my pocket.
    On CNG khi-lhr= 6200 @160/cylinder
    On petrol khi-lhr=21000 @12km/ltr

I also have a Suzuki Kei 660cc 2005. It gives me 17-19km/ltr but its rear suspension is weak and i will have 5 people of the family on board. Otherwise it would be very cheap as compared to alto on petrol.

bros as my opinion carb cars distributors are advance for cng. so on petrol we get high consumption if we retard timing may be a good average will be achieved
