Hi
I am having some issues with my Toyota Corona (1993 T190).
The engine is reducing lube (1 litter eaten in 1700 km).
Head is showing signs of lube near gasket.
power is drop. consumption is increased.
Please advice what is the best possible option for me?
1. Re-do the whole engine along with new nozzles, new rings-pistons, gaskets etc?
Swap with another engine? there are many options including 2c-t, 1cd-ftv or just another 2c from current toyota corolla,s locally assembled. I am not willing to go for 3s-fe or 3c-t as i dont want to spend my days in CNG line as 3s-fe is 2 litter petrol (9kmpl in most cases) that is un-affordable without CNG and 3c-t is 2.2 L with higher torque but higher token fee as well (i will raise token fee prob in some other post).
Go for a D-4 Diesel from avansis 1cd-ftv? this may not fit in my old corona or maybe it will. I heard that these engines are much batter then 2c as the technology is newer but i also heard that these engines are not as reliable as 2c engines and another factor is the problem with fly wheel and potential issue of electrical wiring as older cars have not that kind of wiring to support EFI engines so the whole wiring has also needs to be re-done. Another question in contrast to this option is the gear box. will the old 2c gearbox mate with this new engine? and if not, how the 1cd-ftv gear box will fit in old corona?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
I will have to go for 1 option in coming week so please be quick with answers.
