Pics: Honda Civic V6 Swap

There have a been a lot of question on what is the biggest engine that can be swapped in a Civic. Well a bunch of guys from Miami, Florida, decide they would go ahead see what can fit. They took the smllest engine bay car of all the Civic line ups and the lightest, A 91 Civic Hatch. They decide to take engine from the Accord V6 known as the J30 (pls not to be confused with the Infiniti J30) and 6speed manual tranny from the 2005 Honda Accord. The car is still in the building process but at the finishing stages. This is done so they could compete in the NHRa Quick 16 and from there they will think of joining the PRO FWD and hence the car is kept as FWD all along.

that is not the intercooler that is the radiator barely visible from the engine bay coz it is installed in the bumper.

Hmm, are there any plans for improving the handling? Because if they dont this car will be an un-controllable beast.

The intercooler is locted under the aluminum dash board inside the car. You are wondering what the heck? Well it is water to air intercooler so does not have to be in contact with the outside air to be cooled. It uses water to cool it and in turn cools the charge air.

Water storage tank for the air to water intercooler located inside the cabin. This is where the cold chilled water is filled to cool the intercooler. It is shown without its connections

as they say without control power is useless and if you notice the engine is sitting forward of the front wheels and it is pure drag car. the Forward engine will allow the weight to fall on the front wheels during hard acceleration and inturn reacting like a RWD car.
