Allow me to start with the customary departure sequence out of cloudy, rainy, and perpetually overcast, Bombay

The airline I'm flying this time, GoAir, uses terminal a much older terminal 1A, at Bombay Chhatrapati Shivaji International...

The boarding bridge pulls away from our A320, which by the way, was delayed by 20 minutes due to air traffic congestion over Bombay...

Cloudy skies and bursts of monsoon rain hit us as we climb out of Bombay city. The direct, non-stop flight to Srinagar takes 2 hours and 40 minutes...

Below: The Western Suburban Railway lines ferrying commuters to and from the island...

Flying west, and then turning north, en route to Srinagar (2200+ km away)...

The island city enshrouded in clouds and pouring rain, with the Bandra-Worli Sea Link connecting the suburbs with Bombay island in the bottom right of the picture...

It's crowded, densely-packed and all that, but it's home. Bye bye, Bombay...

…and we're in Srinagar, J&K. The weather is fine and sunny, unlike rainy, overcast Bombay, and it's a balmy 24 degrees Celsius outside!
