Gorakh Hill is one of such places which people of Sindh are proud to have! with elevation of approx 5500ft and approx 90km away from Dadu. The Gorakh Hill is still under development and you'll not find any hotels or such facilities atleast not anywhere near 40-50 km, except small villages. It is the 2nd highest point of Kirthar mountain range in Sindh!

Today we went to Gorakh Hill, 2nd highest mountain in Sind.
Story Line... by Jag It just so happened that I went over to Libra's place for some discussions about PakWheels and other websites on how to take them further, as everyone knows Libra had just returned a day or two back from Quetta so there were pending business issues to be fixed. While tea came and looking at the beautiful pics of snowfall I suggested next time i'll also accompany, and to my surprise libra mentioned why don't we do a day trip to Gorakh Hill i.e. leave early morning and get back by evening! I said like.. are you sure? he mentioned Yeh.. there we go! called up Jehanzeb & Shehryar to see their plans, and fortunately they were around Libra's home only so dropped for a tea and discussion, and agreed to join us me and libra on the adventure.. ..
COMMERCIAL BREAK .. All set & go to leave for 4.30am, Libra picked me up from my house and on our way we picked up Jehanzeb (4.45am) & Shehryar (5.00am)... and we drove & drove, the early sunrise which we Karachi PakWheelers see daily (coz we sleep at sunrise) lol! it was beautiful scene watching the sunrise while cruising at ~100km/h, all of us were fresh and ready for any action! Since none of us had breakfasts, we stopped over at highway for a quick meal.. and started moving towards our first spot Sewan Sharif which we hit at 9.15am.. whole while there were gossips, jokes, and hell of a laugh.. and somewhat mini naps . ..
COMMERCIAL BREAK .. Reached Sewan Sharif 9.15am, which I was visting first time to my surprise and Libra was visting it after 30 yrs!.. it was very much appealing. After spending 10-15 minutes we left for Dadu.. at 10.30am, we reached Dadu DCO's office as we wanted to get confirmations from him about the road conditions over the Gorakh Hill and any precautions, DCO sahab greeted us with great pleasure and top it all we had government tea at his office which was pretty good too! lol, DCO mentioned that it's all safe & sound and infact the road conditions are great except for small patches, and the biggest patch is 1km which is underconstruction, rest is ok.. but he also informed that only 4x4 can manage.. So if anyone is planning to visit Gorakh hill by Car kindly forget about it! ..
COMMERCIAL BREAK .. At 12.35pm we left from Dadu for Gorakh hill, since we were new and visiting first time DCO gave one of his men with Gun .. better be safe then sorry the Road conditions were quite ok till the bottom of Gorakh Hill but very much zig zag, not straight roads.. and then we entered valley with quite some beautiful and worth seeing landscapes. It was really amazing to see such place in Sindh was quite surprising at a first glance, but as they say the fun is just begun.. Libra's driving expertise were yet to be revealed as so far the road was preety smooth and we were doing averaeg of 50 - 60km /h due to zig zags. ..
COMMERCIAL BREAK .. After traveling for like 2.30 hours, we finally made it to top of the Gorakh Hill.. but it is easier said then done, the 1km patch as DCO had mentioned required some immense expertise and patience as mistakes are not allowed at such high altitude! At the top the watch was ticking 3.00pm, after about 35 minutes looking around and breathing fresh air.. and to top it all we left our sticker Member @ PakWheels.com on one of the rocks just to put our flag like old times ..
COMMERCIAL BREAK .. At 3.35 we started to move down and the fun was not yet over! on our way down we were pushed back as they were doing some blasting to make way for the road, we spent like almost 1 hour waiting for the road to get cleared hell of a scaring experience lol! imagine if had to stay there for couple of hours or days.... ! dang. .. COMMERCIAL BREAK .. Anyhow, it was time to return back.. and by 7pm we reached the DCO place in Dadu, and dropped the men with the GUN! and said farewell to dco sahab and thanked him for his guidelines. It took us 30 minutes to reach Mooro which was our lunch + dinner stop, as we ate only snacks for lunch.. and everyone was hungry, the food was superb mainly because we were empty stomach! lol.. and finally at 8pm, we left Mooro via Indus Highway to Karachi. ..
COMMERCIAL BREAK .. We reached Karachi around 1am, as we had mini stops here & there.. then dropped charterali at Al Habib Restaurant on Highway where ZORIX (charter's brother) was having dinner.. so charterali parted us!.. from there went to drop GTiR at his home somewhere near Dohraji lol.. and finally it was time for me to say good bye to this lovely trip! at 1.40am Libra dropped me at my residence and went home.. It was a lovely trip and I would recommend everyone to visit this location, and don't forget to find the pakwheels sticker there hehe. best of luck! Gorakh Hill
