Hello,
As most of the regular visiting people on PW knows I've been doing a swap recently on my EG Sedan.
I wasn't facing much of issues since the car got started Alhamdulillah but who knows what comes up all of a sudden, Project Cars Be Like!
This issue came up when I was sort of testing my car during a so called street tune-up with wideband on, when the car cross around 130 KM/H, there comes a huge voltage drop (IMO), Tach and Speedo starts jumping around and even worse the VTEC gets disengage.
Let me exaggerated the issue:
When I pull my 1st gear till the rev limiter, all seems fine. So is the case in the 2nd Gear, as soon as I shift into 3rd and the car cross 130 KM/H, Headlights starts flickering (dimmer and brighter), tach and speedo starts jumping around the cluster and the VTEC gets disengage, then I release the gas and let the speed slow, all gets back to normal. Other then that you keep it driving for 3 hours or whatever long duration you want, below 130 KM/H all is fine.
Things I have done to diagnose this issue:
-Cleaned the battery terminals.
-Cleaned the alternator's grips.
-Checked the cluster.
-Replaced the VSS Sensor.
-My battery never died, even tough I use my car after a span of a week or so.
But yet none of these has resolved the issue.
Some says its your Alternator, is charging less, some says alternator is overcharging, some says its a loose ground connection, whatsoever.
NOTE: At the first start-up of my car after the F20B, there was a check light for "ELD - Electric Load Detector" which was disabled in the chipping and the ECU wont be looking for an ELD now, I presume.
My question is if its a loose ground connection or any other connection that is loosen, why this has to happen only beyond 130 KM/H ? The connection doesn't knows its 130 KM/H or 120 or what else, it should randomly do this tough.
If its a overcharging alternator then instead of brightening the lights, why it gets the lights dimmer like there is a voltage drop?
If its a weak charging alternator then why all of a sudden lights flickers, cluster jumps and gets out of the VTEC range, isn't the battery there to support at that specific time?
I need serious discussion over here from the experts and help me diagnose this issue, my electrician has gone abroad and no signs of return so far, this has caused me serious depression, i have lost my focus on my work and every other thing of my life. @Xulfiqar @uiv @N2O @Spano @SpoonMotorSports @immad100
