Ummm, my opinion won't go for the DBW lag, because in most of the cases, DBW lag is unnoticeable to a normal driver, it won't cause a jerk no matter what.
DBW lag is like, you step on the gas BUT the throttle body's servo motor takes time to initiate opening of the butterfly. Because its electrically controlled and the sensors sometimes need time to respond. That's when you would feel "Pedal dabaya hua hay but khenchai nai kar rahi".
In analog throttle controls, like in 7th gen, you feel the kick instantly, but it won't jerk even if you literally slam the pedal down.
Power delivery is smooth when the transmission and the clutch system is in perfect harmony. Jerks due to sudden power delivery can be felt in cars having 400 BHP and above (like BMW M6 and some modded swapped local vehicles).
Therefore what I think is its the ivtec disengage, that can cause a jerk due to sudden power release. Just my opinion though, I could be wrong since I am no professional.
