We are just like animals. And it includes our leaders and administrators too.
There are about 8 million people whose age is above 60 in Pakistan. And further there may be around 2 million who are younger but have comorbidities.
For people (our elders if someone has still some humanity left) above 60 there is a 5% chance that they will die if they contract this disease. Although 50% will be in severe pain for sometime but may survive.
It means there is a chance that if everybody is infected in Pakistan, then about 500,000 will die. 500,000 out of 220 million is statistically negligible. Our government understands this fact very much. This is 500,000 less pensioners. So it is a win win situation for the government also and early inheritance (cash gold and property) for 500,000 surviving families. About 99% baba jis of this age don't know about or if they know they dont want vaccination anyway.
At the end people who will be getting the vaccines will be the ones who have to fly to some first world country which mandates a covid-19 vaccination passport or proof.
So in fact I am still not hopeless. May be we will get the vaccine in the end after a couple of months. Cheers,
