Next Step: Stand the bike on its wheels. Target is to bring it in drag-able condition. So we can be sure that we have every required body part before we can move on.
After a lot of search, Front center column arranged from bilal ganj, that was missing. But bearing cups available in the local market are smaller and won't fit. Seems like another trip to bilal ganj or some other option would be used.Using Sohrab's rear hub as it has the same size but need some trimming to fit the rear sprocket.
Currently using Piaggio's sprocket that is 38 teeth soon it will be upgraded to 45 teeth for better acceleration.
So far so good Enjoying it a lot. Building something step by step in a proper manner, seems like a bigger version of LEGO that i used to play in my childhood. Every piece need to be fit exactly where its required.
now this is some serious progress u wnet today ? are u on anual vacations or some thing ... kitny ka mila front end konsi bike ka hai Chopper ka he lag rha hai ..
when will u fit the front and rear tyres ? must need alteration or is it bolt to bolt fitable ?
impressively going brother
Thanks a lot sir.
No sir i am not on holidays subah office janay se pehle time ligata hoon mechanic ke sath phir sham ko wapsi pe. In between bhi phone pe uski jaan khata hon whenever required.
Purchased these things yesterday evening. Actually Front , rear shocks and rear tyre were missing when i purchased it initially so purchased these items seperatly for 16k.
Front shocks and column are from GSX750 but it has same size of the chopper Front and Rear tyres don't need an alteration. will be bolt on fit
Ahaaa! Here we go (Y)
Thumbs up for the motivation level... !!!!
that is even better .. more u put on Japanese parts the better...
Nobody asked how this will gowith this
Still samajh nai ayee? oh come on... how a shaft driven engine will go with a sprocket tyre? Come on people show some deep interest and ask questions This will prove how keenly you are observing the project
Either you will go with a shaft driven rear fork as the DT guy did in Faisalabad or you will get the shaft removal just like the GS guy .... My Guess is you will remove the shaft ? you will have to source a sprocket which can actually fit on it .. I remember that GS guy was stucked sourcing a sprocket...
I know a machinist if u go for #2 he do a good Job!
Woh tu mene soch liya hai waqar bhai ke mene kya kerna hai and already started working on it in parallel (will post pics soon)but kisi ne pehle kkyon nai pucha i was just waking people up from sleep
Shaft to sprocket conversionSo after discussion we decided to go for option 2 @vickytulla. Drive Shaft is maintenance free but has a lot of complexities and alteration. Our target is to keep the alteration to minimum. So we'll go for the chain mechanism
Here's the built in shaft
Removed
When shaft mechanism is removed you get a normal engine shaft. But its pretty fat and heavy. A lot thicker than normal bike shaft. Normal sprocket won't fit. So gotta do something. Hmmmm but whattt...
This is what we came up with. Got this gear that we got from shaft gear mechanism we took it out.Placed is on a 19 Teeth sprocket. and will weld it to make a complete set. Tarrrrraaaaaa... Problem solved
awesome stuff.. though bikes r pretty much banned in the family, still i have that love for a chopper... all the best...
hope It will complete soon and you start exploring Pakistan
nice Job bro ... this is complicated stuff..
Nice job.....
Appreciation = Encouragement++
