(I POSTED THIS POST IN MIRA ES page, but now i found mira fan page so posting it here too for an opinion)
Kei car owners...I appreciate your valid comments here about Japanese KEI cars i.e. 660cc. I have been told by JDM Kei car owners with auto tranny that engine gets hot OR engine noise sounds awkward while commuting for long distances as auto tranny is 3 speed nor 4 speed which make sense technically.
I have been reading comments on KEI car owners with auto tranny on long routes with 3-4 passenger load, how come they drove at speed above 100+ and getting 20+KM/L average, aren't there any affect on their engine life with 3 speed auto gear box when drove for long time (provided the transmission is 3 speed which i also verified from Wiki). if my info is wrong can someone confirm me the auto tranny of all KEI cars (660cc) i.e. 3 or 4 speed?
Based on my experience with cars, 3 speed trans is meant for short distances like in big urban cities as due to traffic conditions one cannot go easily to 4th gear, one can understand what i meant if they have traveled abroad especially considering cities like Tokyo and thats why these cars are called KEI cars.
My view with 660CC engine shud be with manual tranny for smooth run and getting good fuel average? Based on your feedback I will consider to buy a 660cc car for my school kids pickup/drop as currently being under used is 1.0 vitz and its drive is pathetic and fuel average is not more than 14KM/L? auto is preferred if any trim is coming with 4 speed gearbox otherwise will go with manual.
Guys!. I will really appreciate your opinion.
