The more hard work and details you will give it at this stage, the more sharp and clean it will look afterwards. Color choice is also very good. And yes, as you said, its all about doing things by yourself which shows that you have a real affection with your ride. I would suggest that remove everything possible at least from outsides before painting. And yes, you can have a possibility of doing a very clean paint job at home as most of the workshops are around dirty areas and the paint catches dirt easily while spraying. Good Luck!
