Some people are trying hard to prove themselves smart, buddies I have been here for years. If you dont agree to my views, dont quote my post.. one should learn about ethics first, and learn how to use forums.
I myself shifted from 20w-50 to 10w-40 semi synthetic of my used bought car, but I was sure about the history of my car and its true mileage.
Plz learn to use forums ethically, its not a race. No ones trying to be superior. I have provided the guy with a basic overview of the subject.. sure one can switch oil grades.
I changed grades after flushing my engine with an engine flush. Also 1 step reverse in grading is not that much of a difference.
Stepping 2,3 grades back is surely risky on any car.
It offends me the way you have mocked about me believing to what mechanics say.. I am myself an educated guy and an automobile enthusiast.. Yes I dont listen to mechanics or endorse everything they say, but I do believe in things they say that are correct.
I just meant to say that even any experienced mechanic can tell u how changing to lower grade oils can be harmful. They have witnessed many cases and can confirm, not that they are PHDs in oil gradings.
Lastly, plz dont re quote my post. And adopt a more polite manner of posting online.
Come here to learn and understand point of views.. its not a competition of being a boss.
