Actually lawns are sold in nursery by their "Pakistani" names, dhaka, korean, american, etc. I am not into nursery business so I don't know them. In my post graduate, I studied that korean is the hardy grass recommended for playgrounds. I have experienced sowing some lawns at my home garden bought from nurseries: fine dhaka is moderate hardy but not good colour, korean is slow growing, very dull colour, and mostly spreads through rhizomes (rather than stolons). Another variety I have is different from both dhaka and korean, and is much brighter and softer than both of them, and I don't remember from where i got that.
Scientifically saying, most of lawns in Pakistan are types of Bermuda (Cynodan sp.), Korean is different and is known as Zoysia sp., Americans are mostly cool season grasses and are named as rye grass (Lolium sp.), Fescue grass (Festuca sp.), Kentucy blue grass (Poa pratensis), etc.
I am not very expert, just giving my opinion. I might be wrong.
