Sir,
You don't add parameters while going for a decision. Your decision should be based on the factors which you consider important. Like:
Car cost.
The car's itself value in the light of its performance and user reviews.
Maintenance cost, parts cost, availability etc.
Fuel consumption, petrol/cng whatever.
Keeping in view your price range, i would never recommend to go for any old car which ever 93 JDM civic or 88 accord spending the whole amount in buying the car itself only. It depends on the condition of the car you are buying. My friend, its very hard to find any old car which you can compare with a brand new petty pack vehicle in terms of condition. Tell me how do you maintain a car, or on what aspects you maintain a car? Keeping in view its original condition or you can say its factory condition. Let me give you my example, i was also in this deli ma 1 year back which trunk car to buy in the budget of 4.25 and not a penny more than this. i was doing the same mistake searching PKDM civic 94-95 (Dolphin) in this price range. What i was observing was i was getting normal dolphins (not extra ordinary) in the price range of 4-4.10-4.15-4.20 etc but all those vehicles were needing a handsome amount to be spent on them for bringing it into a condition like gem. So what i did was, i started my search criteria from scratch again and refrained my search for cars in the price range of 3-3.50 which included 86 to 93 nissans, 88-90 civics, 86-90 accords, 88-90 lancers and finally i got a grab on 88 accord in black color for 3.65 (which i presume to be very cheap at that time keeping in view my accord's condition) because its owner was going abroad and he was the only second owner of it since 1988 in which it came from Japan. I started using my accord, step by step i figured out its requirements like what it needs to be done on priority and what should be done after that, in this manner i spent my whole remaining amount on it and its been 1 year now MASHALLAH my accord is running absolutely perfect with no troubles. There are many of my friends offering 4.25-4.50 for it but seriously i never thought of selling it although keeping in view the offer which is very good for an 88 accord. If talking about its performance and experience my opinion is its the best ever car japan has made, talking about drive pleasure, features, engine performance, suspension, city handling, long route drive, its truly wonderful.
Therefore i suggest you to go for any good car in the price range of 3-3.50, get a good one and then spend the remaining amount on its maintenance in order to give you its real value for money.
