Hi, Salam All members, I have purchased an idsi (2005) in last December and uptill now the car is going great. The suggestions from Ahamed Bhai are great. Car is giving me millage of 170-190 kms per cylinder (60 kg) in city (Islamabad) and above 210 kms or even some time 230 Km per cylinder on long routes. I am very satisfied with the performance.
Since December 2010 the car has been driven around 30000 kms. Now again its time for tappet adjustments and cleaning of throttle body. I also want to get gas-kit serviced (open all the things of kit and washing, draining of oil and refixing) as i dont know when it was done by the previous owner.
I need suggestion from experts and specially Ahmed bhai what thing should be done first. Should i get the tapped adjusted and throttle body cleaned and go for gas kit service and adjustment or the gas adjustments should be done first and then tappets should be adjusted according to gas settings.
Good to know that u are satisfied with ur car after using it for a year.
For tuning, i will suggest the following (I am assuming that ur car is running fine)
1) DO NOT touch the CNG kit if ur car is running fine! The rule of thumb is that never take ur car to workshop if its working fine (but yes there are a few things that have to be taken care of)
2) Get throttle body washed, get it detached from the engine, get its sensor out and clean it thoroughly using carburetor cleaner (look for the maintainence schedule in main post)
3) Get tappets adjusted.Note that this is a very very technical task and not every ustaad rasheed can do it! take ur car to an expert mechanic, dont try a new person or dont even trust Honda 3S guys unless u ve tested them before.
4) If yours is a vario (automatic) u should get the transmission oil changed and use ONLY Honda OEM oil (CVTF).
If its a manual, u can use the oil for 40,000kms but as u don't know when did the last oil was changed. U can use any good quality Non-Honda OEM transmission oil for it like zic or micking etc.u need 2ltr oil (both for vario n manual) 1ltr oil costs around 400rs/ltr.
I hope this will help u.a lot of other maintainance tips are stated in the main post, go through them, they ll surely help u sometime in the future...
