wonderful trip with very exciting rock crawling opportunities. We were in 4Lo-2nd for the most part. gently crawling over the rocky trail, lots of narrow hill climbs. track was ideal for willys or FJ40s but barely wide enough for our vehicles. in fact GMC got stuck in a few places and on turns due to its width.
overall its a great trail to cover if you're into nature and love offroad. the best and easy way is to go from Pir sohawa side. there's a kacha track turning right from the road..don't know the exact location but can ask someone for track to 'Pharilla village'.. one can travel on this track for hour or so and will reach Pharilla village and CDA rest house there. its a lovely drive with beautiful pine trees and views of Islamabad and other side of mountain. you can come back the same way as well towards pir sohawa.
we actually started from Chattar park area and went up into the mountains, thats kinda far, as well as a longer track but for a short and exciting trip going from pir sohawa side would be best.
