i saw in my city hypervalve that a relay is added ff from honda in the driver door panel
same happens to mine as well, now since it isnt used much in winters so its much better, maybe its motor needs to b changed
Just do what xulfiqar said. Your motors and switch are fine. Don't replace anything, just get the chanels cleaned up.
simply use wd40 or the easy way make a shampoo solution and pour it on the side of the glass and put some gap between the rubber and glass and try to move the glass up and down and after some time you will see the dirt to come out of door and the glass will slide as the new ones.....I have tried this formula many times on my gli and honda city
Dont u think wax will create permanent residues in rubber guides/channels?? Wats ur take on using silicone oil???? Is there any need of greasing or oiling of power window mechanism like gear or kainchi and other moving parts ????
One of back window has refused to work anymoreB4 it used to start working after pressing button for a while but now isnt, neither from its own side nor from driving side
Your power window motor is dead.
OEM one is Rs. 3,000 China 800 or kabar one for 400 your choice.
Classic Honda problem.
If ita classic honda issue then y get a oem one, issue would just come back again
Your brushes could be bad...
Because OEM ones will last for atleast 5 years like your factory one lasted till now.
Yesterday the front left one which is slower stopped in the middle, used to happen in summers sometimes, so b4 spraying wd40, started the car, tried n it worked
Cant find Silicone spray. The one i got read silicone but evaporates after two days. Can i use candle wax on rubber slidings.
how can silicone evaporate? I believe you mean the rubber drinks it up.. Silicone release compound was what I had - you can also use candle wax - but beeswax is better - its natural and smells better.
This is what i had Amazon.com: Slick 50 43712012 Supercharged One Lube Lubricant and Protectant - 12 oz.: Automotive not sure if its silicone. By what name beeswax is sold in market.........
this is a similar version of WD40,
what you need is silicone mould release compound - its used in the rubber casting industry. Quite cheaply available in Pakistan.
and beeswax is called "moam" - as in moambatti, ask a place that sells honey for the "chatta" or ask where the candle factory buys wax from.
@Xulfiqar i traced and found two things. Silicone Oil and Silicone Grease. What is best for what in regards to car? can i put silicone grease in window sliding rubbers and mechanical channels?
one drop of silicone oil goes a long way in rubber channels, the bottom slider of the mechanism takes regular MP grease, a little applied with an acid brush is best.
Silicon oil is available at shop that sell photo copy machine supplies
Btw once a mechanic used kangroo spray wax (meant for plastic) on the rubber channels, that really helped
yep...Silicone spary is the exact thing for this purpose....but i was surprised that people even know about it.... i don't think it would be available easily....never seen it...in market...With passage of time channel rubber gets hard and less slipery causing power windows to slow down....adding relay is not the solution of every electrical problem...
