gen-2 is nice looking thing
personally i believe they should replace the Gen2 with its sedan version Persona in 1.3 & 1.6 lit engines, as in our market mainly 1.3 is considered somewhere close to luxury, overseas you can find a lot of hathbacks that have even 1.8 liter engine so Gen2 here being a hatch & 1.3 engine might not attract many buyers. another thing which i dont like about gen2 is that it offeres only front 2 power windows for its 1.3 version... y not all 4 power windows??? ^o)
basically saying to spend father's money wisely and then advocating byuing proton is contradictory in itself.Obviously there will be more price depreciation with proton no matter what it is.So more loss to father's money.
Secondly,on postive note,we should see proton as a possible option to buy,A potential buyer reserves the right what he buys for himself.
only time will tell.
well...wat abt santro executive and fiat uno too. they also dont give power windows in the rear
Dear usman ansari....infact Gen-2 and Saga both come in sports profile...n u dont get rear power windows and glove box in sports profile.
I've been living in Malasyia for over 4 years now, just thought i'd contribute. This does seem like a step forward in the right direction for Pakistan.Btw, they arn't launching their complete line up.
1) The Saga shown is the old Saga, the all new one is already out. 2) They're top of the line Perdana also the car for the offical's of Malaysia. A 2.0 liter V6 saloon.3) Proton Persona, as mentioned by some one before. Is more of A Gen2 with a boot.4) Proton Satria NEO. A 2 door hatch back. Also offered in CPS trim. Which is slightly tuned with a sportier interior and over all look.6) Proton Exora, launched recently in as a mini van.7) Prton Juara, its a big box!8) Prton Savvy.
Well these are the ones that come to mind right now; oh and the "impian' is known as a WAJA here. i can also say that Wira's are used as taxis on NGV (Natural gas) which i'm pretty sure is the same as CNG. Most of the taxis are driven over 500,000kms before retiring. I haver personally seen a Wira with 700,000+ km on the clock. So as far as reiabiity these things should be ok in Pakistan, well atleast better than their local competition.
im not sure but I dont think the company is operating in pakistan anymore.
^^ it is
O God...
Their website is usually "under construction".
website is backProton Pakistan ā | Just another WordPress weblog
gud gudI think I have seen their car proton saga sometime before in pakistan :S
On their website, they are showcasing the saga s16. I am not sure if it is available in Pakistan well at least not yet.
proton looks to be an extremely messed up operation in Pakistan. Their site has "unprofessional" written all over it - the least they should do is make it sufficiently informational with car types and dealership info.
Also, who is handling the dealership in Pak - is it direct or is there a "seth" group behind it?
The "Juara" is incedibly ugly!.:o
Wat r the price tags on these babies (Saga and Gen2)?
if i could contribute to make those cars successfull to eliminate monopoly trilogy from Pakistan i would love to
asi website hony ka tu koi faida nhn hy...not a single info is available about car or company (other than the company history which is not helpful to a customer)..only one UAN is given..any body know some other sorce, i mean email (info@---.com)
I remember someone had posted a thread of the inaugral ceremony for Proton's debut in Pak a few years back in this forum(in additon to the pics above) and all i saw was greasy politician and mullah types hugging each other with some fawning and groveling employee suits thrown in all gorging on even greasier food which was given more importance than the car. The event was more like a Lions Club g2g rather than a professional launch of a product, IMO. I knew then itself that Proton was doomed and they had chosen the wrong local partners. I'm not surprised that it is where it's at.
yuck looking cars wid yuck quality...ppl there are better cars than proton to buy
