This Sunday, my project was to fix the A/C of my khyber.
A/C cooling is super but the issue is given below
It has sanden 505 in place of denso. As sanden is heavier on the engine (as compared to the original denso) + the temperature of lahore these days resulting in to car overheating despite of five fin radiator fan and three pipe radiator.
Khyber (originally) has a double pulley with the larger outer (6") pulley driving compressor and inner smaller (5") one drives the rest. ( Suitable for factory fitted compressor)
Physics: Larger the driving pulley = higher RPM of the driven pulley (more power required to rotate the driving pulley)
Solution
(pulley with smaller outer diameter)
So I searched for the old swift's (japan assembled) pulley, coz in it the outer pulley has less diameter (4") than the inner one (5"). so less load on the engine with compressor but also less RPMs but Sanden is ok with it.
Result
Super ac cooling (as before).
very less load on the engine (Cant tell when the compressor starts)
no overheating
better mileage on ac
