The Celerio is a good looking car & if priced competitively I think it would be a big seller in 1000cc market in Pk. I would certainly consider purchasing one, the Wagon R is also a good car but it?s looks divide opinion (they both share the same K10b engine). The Santro imo was the best 1000cc car in Pk & that was introduced over 10 years ago!
Paksuzuki, had so many options available to it, yet it always goes for the ?cheapest rip off?, instead of deleting Alto, they should have deleted Mehran & dropped 800cc efi into Alto. The Alto would have even accommodated the K10b engine without even having to change the frame engine mountings.
We also have the odd the situation where the Cultus has a less powerful engine than the Wagon R, but the Cultus is actually a bigger car. Again, the K10b engine can be easily slotted into the Cultus, thereby extending its lifecyle (Cultus USP in Pk market is it?s size & it has indepenedent rear susp)
Getting back to the topic, if PS made the investment & tooling for the Celerio I think they would have a big seller and they would not have to change the design for at least the next 10-15 years! (average product lifecyle for PS) thereby easily recouping their investment.
In the future they could even sell the Ciaz and challenge the sedan market.
However, I don?t hold out much hope as Paksuzuki are idiots who can?t tell their face from their ar*e!
Paksuzuki is only here to rip off Pakistan.
