    WORLD PREMIERE OF NEW KIA OPTIMA/MAGENTIS

    Kia Motors Corporation has confirmed that the world premiere of its all-new Kia Magentis four-door sedan will take place at the Frankfurt International Motor Show on 13 September. Designed at Kia facilities in Korea, the USA and Europe, the new Magentis marks the latest step in the complete regeneration of the Kia product line-up over the last four years

    Longer, wider and higher than the previous model, with an extended 2720 mm wheelbase, more spacious interior and larger trunk, the stylish new Magentis is a thoroughly modern design, engineered to give Kia a strong challenger for D-Segment sales around the world. New Magentis measures 4735 mm long, 1805 mm wide and 1480 mm tall.

    I'm a member of automobile industry. Let me tell you the facts.

    When we talk about smaller cars, remember that, smaller cars are made for fun and enjoyment, those are not "family cars" like cultus or mehran which are positioned as "poor-family's car" in Pakistan.
    Therefore the designers make cars with many accessories and convience elements. This raised the price, which resulted in higher landed cost in Pakistan if imported in CBU condition.

    While local assembly is no more feasible due to high investment and longer payback period. Suzuki has made the small car segment his own field. Remember Revo, completely pakistani car but still for 260,000 because they had to setup plant, so they have to spare profit to get break even. While suzuki's plan has completed its payback period long ago.

    My conclusion is that Pakistanis have to pay at least 800,000 for imported small car (remember indus's sirion, vitz) or do qina'at on Santro, Cultus, Alto or 3-year old used CBU's with parts problem.

    As per my knowledge

    Kia Rio
    Kia Picanto
    Kia Sportage

    All imported CBU's are to be introduced in early next year.

    KIA Picanto seems much cuter than the Santro, but how can Dewan introduce the Picanto in Pakistan as it will compete directly against the locally assembled Santro. I think they better replace the Santro with Picanto.

    @spectra
    correct,Santra has been discontinued and there is a difficulty for Deewan motors importing the parts. Currently 8000 santro's are booked.Due to political reason parts cannot be imported from India,they have santro version still in production. Anyways,
    Kia Picanto will be introduced next year Feb.
    And for your info, Deewan has also taken dealer ship of Rolls Royce.....
